An organization for the international promotion of the Kyushu economy formed by the Kyushu Economic Federation and Kyushu Bureau of Economy, Trade, and Industry has signed memorandums of understanding for economic exchange with the governments of Thailand and Indonesia. These are the organization’s first such agreements since a similar memorandum was signed with the Vietnamese government in 2009. Local companies are increasingly interested in expanding their operations into Southeast Asia, and they hope to create a more favorable investment climate with the help of the government.
