A group of researchers at Fukuoka Institute of Technology discovered that microplastics are floating in the air Fukuoka City. While the similar contamination had been reported in other parts of the world, this was the first detection in Kyushu. Further research to find out how the floating microplastics traveled for such long-distance will be conducted in Kyushu, Northern Alps, and other locations in the future.
