Mitsubishi Electric plans to increase production at its Kyushu plants for power semiconductors that can reduce power consumption. The manufacture of these devices will be ramped up next year at its plants in Fukuoka and Kumamoto prefectures. It will increase by 40% its production capabilities for semiconductors used in consumer electronics products and for hybrid and eco-cars. It also plans to manufacture new products for wind and solar power generation there.
