Nissan Motors and Miyazaki Prefecture have formally agreed to work together to promote the use of electric vehicles. This is Nissan’s fourth agreement with a sub-national level government, and the first to include the use of solar cells in automobiles. The automaker plans to launch sales of the battery-powered Leaf model next year. One part of the agreement envisions the creation of a battery recharging system infrastructure in the system operating on solar power.
