Moji Customs Warns Against Counterfeit Imports

Moji Customs officers distributed flyers at Hakata Station on November 11, warning travelers not to bring counterfeit goods into Japan. The effort is part of a campaign from November 10 to 14 to curb intellectual property violations. During the first half of 2025, more than 26,000 fake items were seized—marking the third consecutive year above 20,000. Electrical replicas, including earphones posing fire risks, surged more than 200-fold from last year to over 3,100 items. Officials urged consumers to avoid suspiciously cheap or poorly translated online shops when buying products. Source: Moji Customs
