On November 20th, a monkey appeared near the gate of Jonan Middle School in Chayama, Fukuoka’s Jonan Ward. No injuries were reported. The school expedited dismissal time as a precaution. The monkey, about 50 cm long, was lost from view after crossing a nearby river. Deputy Principal Takashi Ota described taking early dismissal measures due to concerns about monkey attacks.
