Catholic Church Archdiocese of Nagasaki announced that a priest misappropriated approximately ¥250 million of its funds in 2013. In his fifties, the priest was in charge of accounting when he invested the money into international projects without asking for the archbishop’s permission. The church has collected only ¥18 million so far and intends to continue requesting refunds from the person who promoted the investments. Source: Sankei
