New Baseball Park to Attract Third Pro Team to Train in Miyazaki City
Miyazaki City will build a new baseball park at its facilities in the city to attract a third pro team to spring training after the Tokyo Yomiuri Giants and the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks. They also plan to concentrate the bullpens and interior practice facilities at one site. The new park will open in 2015. The city is pleased with the economic impact of the two teams’ training before the season starts, and hopes to attract more sports tourism.
