Sapporo Breweries Ltd. released a limited production beer ‘Otsukaresan Beer’ in collaboration with a Fukuoka-based hiking application company, Yamap. A guide working for Yamap applied for Sapporo’s ‘Hoppin’ Garage’ project, which solicits ideas for new brands of beer. The concept of treating oneself to a beer after engaging in outdoor activities and other life events inspired the white ale brew with low alcohol (3%) and slightly-salty taste.
