Fukuoka City has announced a new “Entrance Garden” will open at the Fukuoka Botanical Garden in March 2026. The 3,200-square-meter area will include a “Circular Terrace” with a shallow reflective pool beneath a 16-meter-wide canopy to mirror seasonal flowers and greenery. Behind it, a rose-focused garden will feature about 600 plants across 300 species. Construction begins in July 2025. Mayor Soichiro Takashima said he hopes visitors will enjoy the immersive floral experience year-round. A large-scale flower event, the Fukuoka Flower Show 2026, is also planned for the grand opening.
