New High: Fukuoka Draws in 65 Businesses

Fukuoka City, Japan, has reported a record number of 65 new businesses entering the city in the 2022 fiscal year, surpassing the previous year’s record of 64. This marks a two-year streak of record-breaking corporate growth. The city’s redevelopment project “Tenjin Big Bang” and ‘TEAM FUKUOKA’, an initiative to turn Fukuoka into an international financial hub, have been instrumental in this increase. Of the new enterprises, 47 belong to the creative industry, including digital comic and game production companies. In addition, the city welcomed 12 foreign and foreign-affiliated companies and 7 international financial firms, including Singapore’s fintech company, M-DAQ. Source: Nikkei
