Mitsui & Co. is working with an investment company and another firm to build a megasolar power plant in Nishiki-machi, Kumamoto Prefecture. Construction will begin in October with March 2013 targeted for the start of operations. The annual power generation volume is projected to be 2.45 kWh, or enough power for 700 households.
