Nishi-Nippon Railroad Co Ltd. announced its interim consolidated financial statements that revealed record-high sales during the past six months. The president and CEO of the company, Sumio Kuratomi, spoke at a press conference on November 7, stating that the net sales saw an increase of 1.8% (¥190 billion) compared with the same period of the year before, thanks to the increased popularity of the Reiwa-related destinations and tours. Meanwhile, stagnant diplomatic situations with Korea continue to impact the company’s business, including logistics and hotels. With that in mind, sales estimates for the next term have been revised downwards. Source: The Sankei News, 11/8/2019
