The Fukuoka City-based Nishinippon City Bank released its consolidated interim report showing that its current profit for the term soared by 75.1% to 14.5 billion yen. It was the bank’s first rise in current profit in three years. Net profit rose for the second straight year to 9.083 billion yen. The primary factors included a decline in the number of bankruptcies among the companies that have borrowed money from the bank, and a 39.5% drop in expenses for handling non-performing loans.
