Nishitetsu Announces New Hotel Project for Dazaifu

Nishi-Nippon Railroad Co Ltd. announced on Jan. 24 plans to open a new hotel in Dazaifu City in the summer of 2019 by renovating traditional wooden Japanese townhouses. Three buildings built during the Meiji and Showa periods will be renovated into an atmospheric hotel with nine spacious rooms and a French restaurant. The area has attracted approximately 10 million tourists each year, but the average length of stay remains as short as three hours. By providing an attractive hotel facility, the company expects to extend the tourists’ staying time and activate the whole area. The room price will be around ¥63,000 per night including dinner and breakfast. Source: Nishitetsu, 1/24/2019
