Nishi Nihon Tetsudo announced their plan to build a 46 story, 152m-tall condominium as part of their redevelopment plans for Island City in Higashi-ku. The condominium will become the tallest of its kind in Kyushu and is expected to be completed in February 2019. At present the tallest condominium in Kyushu is I Tower at 45 stories (149m). I Tower was completed this spring by Nishitetsu and is also located in Island City. Nishitetsu is planning to develop condominium from this December until 2020 in a 4.1 hectare area in Island City.
