According to sources, Nishitetsu is moving ahead with talks on the combined redevelopment of the Tenjin Vivre and Tenjin Core buildings along with the adjacent Fukuoka Building, which houses the company’s headquarters. Nishitetsu plans to build a new building on the site of the aging Fukuoka Building, which was erected 55 years ago. Forty years have passed since the Tenjin Vivre and Tenjin Core buildings were built, and Nishitetsu will need to either acquire the land upon which they stand or obtain preferential negotiating rights for a lease. Meanwhile, City Hall is planning to build a new building just east of Fukuoka Building by 2020 as part of its Tenjin Big Bang redevelopment project. Source: RKB News, 3/24
