Nishitetsu to Build a Large-scale Conference Center

Nishitetsu announced on Apr. 18 plans to construct and open a large-scale conference hall in Hakata Ward in the spring of 2021. The hall, which will be one of the largest convention halls run by a private company in western Japan, will be named Hakata International Exhibition & Conference Center. Two conference rooms of 3,000 square meters (2,000 person capacity) will be nested inside the four-story building in addition to 15 meeting rooms. It will be located within a 13-min. walk from Hakata Station. While Fukuoka City ranks high with its number of international conferences, lack of venues has been a matter of concern. Construction will begin in the summer of this year. Source: Nishitetsu, 4/18/2019
