Nishitetsu to Close Three of its Nursery Schools

Nishi-Nippon Railroad Co., Ltd. (Nishitetsu) announced that they will withdraw their management services from three nursery schools that they have been running in Fukuoka City. In 2006, the company opened Nishitetsu Hoikuen Picoran nursery schools in Hirao, Watanabe-dori (Chuo-ku), and Chihaya (Higashi-ku). However, increasing levels of competition and a fall in the numbers of students using their services made it harder for Nishitetsu to ensure a profitable return in this sector, resulting in the decision to close these three schools in February 2018. The company will assist in introducing its clients to other nursery schools and preschool day care facilities in the surrounding areas. Source: Yomiuri Shimbun, 11/22/2017
