Nishitetsu and local snack company Fukuhaku have collaborated to create “Potecha” – potato chips flavored with tea leaves from Hoshinomura, Yame City. The chips are part of a project by Nishitetsu to promote local food items. Potatoes used to make the chips come from Nagasaki, Kumamoto and Hokkaido, and the Yame tea leaves give the chips a nice bitter flavor. The green tea chips are available at 9 locations in Fukuoka including Nishitetsu Fukuoka Tenjin Station and the Kurume Bus Center, retailing at ¥390 (incl. tax) per 110g packet.
