The city of Kitakyushu has been successfully attracting tenants to its waterfront Hibikinada Industrial Park, one of the largest in Kyushu. Four companies have relocated to the park already this year, and more than 90% of the space in the park is sold. Though the park was opened in 1989, interest in relocation there soared after a container terminal was built nearby.
