Olympic Torch to Pass Through Fukuoka in May

Details about the Tokyo Olympic torch route have been released. Approximately 10,000 torchbearers will participate in the relay, which will start in Fukushima Prefecture on March 26 next year. The flame will be in Fukuoka Prefecture for two days in mid-May. Close to 200 runners will carry the torch through 20 municipalities. The torch will visit the cities of Omuta, Chikugo, Kurume, and Asakura on May 12. The first day will come to a close after the flame has gone through Dazaifu and reached the Marine Messe convention center in Fukuoka City. On May 13, the relay will take in Tagawa, Iizuka, and Kitakyushu, before finally arriving at the Kanmon Straits Museum. It will then be handed over to Yamaguchi Prefecture. Source: NHK 12/17
