Otafuku Expands Tempura Bits Production In Nagasaki

Otafuku Holdings has opened a new plant in Omura, Nagasaki Prefecture, to expand production of tempura bits for export markets. Operated by subsidiary Nakagawa, the facility replaces an older plant and will increase annual production capacity by 50% to 6,300 tons when operations begin in July. The factory features additional frying equipment, partial automation, and an optimized production layout to improve efficiency. A new storage warehouse has also been added to reduce waste and stabilize production planning. Demand for tempura bits has grown alongside the global popularity of Japanese cuisine, with exports to Europe and other regions continuing to expand. Source: Otafuku / Nikkei
