Ovision Ice Arena: Fukuoka’s Skating Revival

The newly renovated Fukuoka City skating rink, “Ovision Ice Arena Fukuoka,” has been unveiled to the press. The “Ovision Ice Arena Fukuoka” underwent renovations after the “Papio Ice Arena” in Chiyo, Hakata Ward, closed in July 2022 due to aging. The rink gained a new name through naming rights. While maintaining its size, a new meeting space was created for use by ice hockey and figure skating teams. The aging refrigeration equipment, which was one of the reasons for the closure, has been replaced with new equipment, potentially reducing energy costs by about 40%. General use will begin on April 1st. Operating hours are from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Source: KBC
