PCR Kit Shortage Leads To Canceled Classes

Delayed PCR screening operations are causing extended school closures in Kitakyushu City. The city’s education committee has expanded its PCR handling capacity but still had no choice but to instigate class closure days. Under current rules, school classes will be canceled until all students test negative. As of Jan. 20, class closures were reported at 36 local elementary and junior high schools in the region.
