Power Plant CO2 Capture Tests Start in Omuta

Toshiba Energy Systems & Solutions Corporation will test a new CO2 capturing system at the Mikawa biomass plant in Omuta City, Fukuoka. The program aims to capture over-500 tons of CO2 daily, reducing daily emissions by more than a half. Different ways to use and dispose of captured gas are under discussion, including storing them under the sea. The project aims to apply to bring the system online in 2023. Source: Nikkei / Asahi
