Fukuoka Prefecture and Fukuoka City have announced that they will work together to revitalize the area around the Naka River, which runs through the city center, to promote city planning that makes the most of the waterfront. Governor Hattori of Fukuoka Prefecture and Mayor Takashima of Fukuoka City held a joint press conference to announce this. According to the press release, Fukuoka City will collaborate with the prefecture on “Riverfront NEXT,” a project to revitalize the parks and plazas around the Naka River, which flows through the center of the city.
