The Prefecture is working on ways to promote the component features and surrounding areas of the Okinoshima Island and Related Sites in Munakata Region UNESCO World Heritage candidate site, which will be considered for inscription this July. Since the ruins of the ritual sites on Okinoshima, which are surrounded by dense forest, are not easily accessible, the Prefecture plans to produce a video with computer graphics that will provide viewers with a virtual experience. It will also install a walking path to the Shinbaru-Nuyama Tumulus Cluster observation deck in Fukutsu City. In addition, a homepage will be created to showcase the various ruins in Fukuoka Prefecture, and publicity efforts will be carried out in the metropolitan Tokyo area. With an eye on inscription, the Prefecture is focusing its energies on attracting tourists to the area around the site. Source: FIBA
