In an effort to support those suffering from infertility, a condition that causes repeated miscarriages and stillbirths, Fukuoka Prefecture has begun offering subsidies of up to ¥50,000 to cover the cost of testing and treatment. According to the Fukuoka Prefectural Government, approximately 1,600 people in the prefecture undergo tests and treatment each year, and the average cost of one treatment without insurance coverage is ¥100,000. In an effort to reduce the financial burden on those suffering from infertility, Fukuoka Prefecture began subsidizing a portion of the cost of testing and treatment last week. Source: NHK
