Prefecture To Nearly Double Treatment Beds for COVID-19

On August 12, Fukuoka Prefecture announced 77 more cases of the new coronavirus infection. The cumulative total stands at 3,215. The daily instances include 44 instances in Fukuoka City and 11 in Kitakyushu City, while Kurume City reported no infections for three consecutive days. As of August 11, 307, COVID-19 patients were hospitalized. The occupancy rate of the hospital beds reached 62.7% on the same day. The prefecture is currently working to increase the number of beds for COVID-19 treatments from 490 to 760. Sources: TNC / NHK
