Prefecture to Redevelop Government Building

Fukuoka Prefecture has granted priority negotiating rights to a group of three companies led by JR Kyushu for the redevelopment of its government building located near the Chikushi-guchi Exit of JR Hakata Station. Once the existing building is demolished, the group will lease the 2,600 m2 plot of land from the prefecture and erect a new office building, which is slated to open in the spring of 2024. Each floor will feature spacious designs in an effort to attract large-scale tenants. The facility will feature a public space where people can congregate and a cafe that features local specialty foods and traditional handicrafts from around the prefecture. The entrance area will serve to publicize the prefecture’s tourist sites and the prefectural government’s various policy initiatives. Source: fiba.jp
