New car registrations (excluding mini-vehicles) in the seven Kyushu prefectures for February 2023 increased by 25.5% compared to the same month last year, reaching 26,633 units. This marks the second consecutive month of year-on-year growth and is attributed to the gradual resolution of production constraints caused by the semiconductor shortage, resulting in more vehicle deliveries. Kumamoto had the largest increase at 33.4%, followed by Miyazaki at 31.9%, while Fukuoka and Okinawa had 21.9% and 61.6% increases, respectively. Source: Nikkei
