Queen Beetle To Operate Hakata Bay-Okinoshima-Itoshima Cruises

The Queen Beetle is preparing to operate domestic round trip cruises beginning in early 2021. The 500-seat cruise ship will sail out from Hakata Port and visit sightseeing spots including Okinoshima (UNESCO World Heritage Site,) Shikanoshima peninsula, and Itoshima. Operation of the Australia-made, Panamanian vessel has been suspended for more than four months under Japan’s regulations of foreign-registered vessels. However, to support local tourism from the prolonged impact of the new coronavirus pandemic, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism intends to make exceptions to foreign ships’ operation in cases such as this.
