Saga Prefecture’s SPIRA has won the Japan Foundation’s “Global Citizen Award” for its efforts in multicultural coexistence. The group supports foreign residents with services such as medical interpreting, multilingual disaster aid, and a one-stop consultation center. Founded in 1990, SPIRA now serves over 10,000 foreign residents in Saga and plans to expand its support for families relocating to the region. The award ceremony will take place on February 19 in Tokyo. Source: Japan Foundation Official Facebook
