Samurai Japan Baseball Selects Four Softbank Hawks Players

Samurai Japan announced its lineup for upcoming matches against Mexico and the list included four from the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks. The series is the latest step in Japan’s preparation for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Rei Takahashi, Yuto Mori, Takuya Kai, and Seiji Uebayashi were reportedly happy to have been selected. Takahashi said, “I feel the pressure of playing as a member of the national team. Performing my best in this rare opportunity to play with a foreign team will be crucial.” With four players on the national team, largest of 12 teams in Japan, the Hawks continue to demonstrate their strength in the sport. The games will take place on Mar. 9 and 10 at Kyocera Dome Osaka. Source: SoftBank Hawks, 2/18/2019
