Police and other personnel will monitor routes to and from every elementary school in Kitakyushu’s Kokurakita Ward from Oct. 27 following a street stabbing. The patrols follow an attack on a woman in her 20s near a convenience store in Furusenbamachi shortly after 4:30 a.m. on Oct. 25. She told investigators she did not know the man who attacked her. Security footage showed a man leaving the scene toward the south.
