The northern promenade of Seiryu Park and the plaza on Haruyoshi Bridge reopened on Sep. 11 following redevelopment. New riverside terraces bring visitors closer to the Naka River in central Fukuoka. Three takeaway food-and-drink shops opened, including Hello Brewery, which serves craft beer made with Itoshima ingredients. The project uses the Park-PFI system, with part of the businesses’ revenue contributing to park improvement costs. Completion of the remaining southern area is planned for this winter.
