A Fukuoka-based company surveying housing sales in the region has compiled projections for new condominium sales in Kyushu in 2008. The projections call for a 24.2% drop in year-on-year sales to 8,201 units. The primary reasons cited for the decline are the greater expense caused by the higher cost of construction materials and the increasing difficulty in obtaining loans for condo purchases from financial institutions.
