Six Pachinko Parlors Continue to Operate – 26 Infections Linked to Nightclubs in Kurume

On Apr. 29, Fukuoka Prefecture announced 14 more cases of COVID-19 infections, bringing the cumulative total to 639. The new cases involve three dancers employed by the Love Chain nightclub in Kurume City. Amongst the 45 confirmed infections found in the city, 26 cases are now linked to similar nightlife businesses, including the site of the suspected cluster, the Mabini nightclub. Yesterday, Fukuoka Prefecture publicly announced the names of pachinko parlors that continue to operate despite the requests for them to close. The following six such facilities opened their doors at 10 am on Apr. 29; ‘Slot Club Max’ (Kokura-kita Ward, Kitakyushu), ‘Lucky Seven Kusubashi Shop’ (Yahata-nishi Ward, Kitakyushu), ‘New Space In Palace’ (Minami Ward, Fukuoka), ‘Slottia’ (Chikugo), ‘Base’ (Buzen), and ‘Base Ogori’ (Ogori.)
