Small Aircraft Crash in Ariake Sea

A small aircraft disappeared from radar above the northern Ariake Sea off the coast of Fukuoka Prefecture on the afternoon of April 18. The three occupants were rescued from the sea by the Japan Coast Guard. Two men in their eighties were unconscious at the time of rescue and later pronounced dead. The third person has survived and is in a hospital in Saga City. The aircraft disappeared from radar above the northern Ariake Sea at around 3:43 pm. Source: NHK / NHK 2
