Smart Bike Rental Service in Central Fukuoka City

Fukuoka City invited businesses to bid for the right to operate a smart bike rental service around central Tenjin and Hakata from mid-April until March 31, 2020. The trial is part of a comprehensive traffic strategy that the city formulated in March 2015 in order to increase mobility in the city center and improve the public transportation system. The service aims to reduce both the number of neglected bicycles and the flow of traffic on the roads. The city will screen proposals and then decide which company will be awarded the contract on March. Source: Fukuoka City Website, 2/5/2018
