Social Trial for Easing of Restrictions Underway

An outline for a social trial for easing activity restrictions during the pandemic has been announced. Fukuoka Prefecture will be one of the thirteen prefectures for testing the new dine-in guidelines. Limitations on the number of people in groups and business hours would be eased at participating eateries on the condition of confirming guests’ vaccination status and PCR-screening results. However, the prefecture is struggling to find collaborators as restaurants and bars must return to original (shorter) shop hours after Oct. 14, regardless of the social test’s outcome.
