SoftBank Hawks Parade Draws 290,000 Fans

The Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks held a parade in central Fukuoka on November 24 to celebrate their first Japan Series title in five years. After recovering from an early-season slump to capture a second straight league title, the team defeated Hanshin in the Japan Series. Manager Hiroki Kokubo, team chairman Masayoshi Son, and players led the procession along Meiji-dori as an estimated 290,000 fans cheered and displayed congratulatory messages.
