On May 7 (Sat.), SoftBank Hawks pitcher Dennis Sarfate, in support of the Kyushu Christ Disaster Relief Center’s activities, invited 70 Kumamoto earthquake victims to the Eagles’ game: 35 children accompanied by 35 parents and volunteers. After arriving at the Yahuoku! Dome the children watched the players practice, and then met Sarfate and other key players such as Uchikawa and Yanagita. During the game, Sarfate commented that seeing them cheering and smiling in the stands gave him energy. The pitcher also said, “Everyone in the Hawks team, my family and I are all thinking of Kumamoto. Let’s overcome this difficult time together.” Source: Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks News, 5/8
