On August 9, Fukuoka Softbank Hawks’ pitcher Rick van den Hurk gave up only five hits and two runs in a seven inning outing against the Chiba Lotte Marines for his tenth win of the season – a first for him since coming to Japan. The Dutchman is currently playing his third year in the National Professional Baseball (NPB) league and joins Nao Higashihama as the second Hawks pitcher to notch up 10 wins for the 2017 season.
