Softbank Trades Slugger Richard To Giants In 2-For-1 Deal

Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks and the Yomiuri Giants have completed a 2-for-1 player trade, sending 25-year-old infielder Richard to the Giants in exchange for outfielder Yuto Akihiro and left-handed reliever Ryusei Oe. Richard, now in his eighth pro season, led the Western League in home runs for five consecutive years and played 100 top-league games with 10 home runs since 2021. He expressed gratitude to SoftBank leaders and said he hopes to grow further with the Giants. Akihiro, a 22-year-old power hitter with a 2-meter frame, played 121 games in his third season, batting .273 with 10 home runs. Oe, 26, has made 149 appearances as a left-handed reliever, holding a 7–0 record with 34 holds. Source: Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks
