According to the Kitakyushu Board of Education, a metal screw was found in a side dish at a municipal elementary school in Tobata-ku, Kitakyushu City, on July 7. The metallic screw was approximately 2 cm long. No similar incidents have been reported in the city, and no one was injured. The Board of Education initially stated that the screw found was not used in any of the cooking utensils in the lunchroom, but upon re-inspection, announced that it was from a plate attached to a vegetable cutter. The city’s Board of Education has stated that it will conduct inspections of lunchrooms at all elementary schools in the city to prevent a reoccurrence. Source: KBC
