Stairway to Harmony: New Interactive Installation at Nishitetsu Fukuoka

On September 1, the northern exit of Nishitetsu Fukuoka Station will feature a unique musical installation—a “giant keyboard instrument” built into the staircase. As people step up and down the stairs, sensors trigger sounds, mimicking the keys of a piano. Following the popularity of last year’s stairway piano, Nishitetsu has updated the concept, transforming the keyboard into a harpsichord. The interactive feature will be available starting at 10 a.m. on September 1. It aims to bring vibrancy to the community and also increase train ridership. The “Giant Staircase Harpsichord” will remain in place until September 26. Source: Nishitetsu / KBC
