Art students from Kyushu Sangyo University in Fukuoka are creating oil paintings based on testimonies from atomic bomb survivors. The initiative, started in 2022 at the request of a local survivors’ group, aims to visually express the horrors of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Five students are currently working on four pieces depicting scenes of destruction and trauma. The artworks will be exhibited from August 7 to 11 at Fukuoka City’s Citizen Welfare Plaza. Source: NHK
