Sunny Supermarket Introduce Coin Exchange Machines

Three Sunny supermarkets in Fukuoka Prefecture introduced US-developed Coinstar to exchange coins into shopping coupons. The device has been introduced at some 23,000 supermarkets in the U.S. and Europe, providing a practical way to use coins that collect inside homes. Keeping excess coins at home can lead to a waste of natural resources. Sunny intends to introduce seven more units at its shops in the region by the end of September. Note, Sunny deducts 9.9% as a commission for the exchange. Also note that local banks charge for exchanging coins for bills, and currently only the post office does not charge a few to deal with coins. Source: JCN Newswire
